We have everything your child needs for a well-rounded and rich educational experience.
We celebrate the individual talents of each child, and our wide ranging extra-curricular activities encourage pupils to strive for their full potential in every aspect of school life.
The happiness and wellbeing of our pupils lies at the heart of all we do, providing the necessary foundations in a small and nurturing environment.
Our school enjoys a number of outside facilities, including a secure playground on West End Street, a dedicated outdoor space for our Nursery classes, and a beautiful hidden garden planted with mature trees and shrubs.
Children of all ages are encouraged to spend time outdoors - both at play and at learning, and our dedicated Outdoor Learning Space for Early Years and Foundation stage children allows pupils to explore the natural world and learn in all weathers.
Notre Dame Prep children benefit from an all weather, multi-games astro turf pitch on site for internal games, PE lessons and sporting events.
Notre Dame Prep pupils also enjoy an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting skills on the pitches at the University of East Anglia for Sports Day, Easton & Otley College and classes take regular trips to The Hewitt School for swimming lessons.
The school’s library was recently refurbished in the summer of 2022. It is a vibrant, comfortable and welcoming space and is used by children of all ages. The library offers a range of material for interests and reading ages.
Music is a great strength at Notre Dame Prep, and our pupils enjoy a dedicated space to practise their instruments or their lines for upcoming drama performances or the school nativity. Individual lessons in a number of instruments, and in speech, drama and singing all take place in our music rooms with our visiting teachers.
As an independent Catholic school, Notre Dame Prep is honoured to have a strong relationship with the nearby Cathedral of St John the Baptist on Unthank Road.
Our children attend and perform yearly at the St John the Baptist carol service, and enjoy an annual Speech Day within the impressive and historic walls of one of the city’s finest buildings.
The school hall is the centre of life at Notre Dame Prep. The space is used for school assemblies and gatherings, drama and music performances (including our Christmas Nativities and talent show), and is also where fresh, daily lunches are served by our onsite catering team. Older classes also enjoy an opportunity to take to the stage each year, with the summer musicals performed at Norwich’s iconic Playhouse Theatre.
Technology underpins much of the learning in the classroom, particularly for older year groups, who have access to Chromebooks to complement their work in the classroom. This includes 3D design of interiors or planning, filming and editing their own documentaries.
