A Heart In Community

When one reads about independent schools, you would expect to see the terms ‘Unique’, ‘Small Class Sizes’, ‘Bringing the Best out in each Child’, ‘Excellent Academic Results’ and so on. Notre Dame Preparatory School offers all of these things but what makes us different?

Our parents trust us to ensure that learning is stimulating and great fun. We also operate very much as a family, where children get an opportunity to develop their individual talents whilst integrating fully into a system which holds community at the centre. Visitors always comment on the sense of purpose in all that we do and that carries through to our enormous array of extracurricular activities. We have been doing this since 1864 of course and while we remain committed to our Roman Catholic ethos and its traditions, we admit children of all faiths and are very modern too!

Our academic results are simply outstanding for a non-selective school but examination success is only part of what we do. Dedicated staff members are just as concerned with pastoral care and all that goes on outside the classroom, making for a truly holistic approach. We are on a mission to ensure that all children thrive at Notre Dame and I’m confident that this will come across as you explore our website. As a Roman Catholic school, we endeavour to nurture a love of God through Jesus Christ in all our children. The school has an ethos of love and care and embraces children of all faiths.
